How to Decorate a Rental Home – #RoveatFremont

We’re excited to share #RoveatFremont, a collaboration with interior stylist, Laura Melling, and Vancouver-based furniture store, Rove Concepts. Laura brought together some of her favourite design tips using furniture from Rove Concepts for Fremont Living. Move-in now, and be the first to live at Fremont Living. Open daily from 11:00am to 7:00pm and located at 553 Seaborne Place, Port Coquitlam.

Style always goes with style

Rather than sticking with one style throughout your home, consider mixing a few different iconic styles for a more engaging space. This dining room features a classic Tulip Table paired with an eclectic collection of Scandinavian chairs, the mid-century modern Lucas Sideboard and the Modern Concrete Pendent. Unique each in their own way, forming the perfect backdrop to gather friends and family over a delicious meal.

Invest in versatile pieces

Invest in versatile pieces that you can’t live without. A sofa can be a great place to start. Laura selected the Sophia Sofa in deep blue linen with matte black legs. Crisp, modern, and with clean detailing, it’s a statement piece for your living room that you will love for years to come. All sofas at Rove Concepts are fully customizable, making versatility easier than ever. Another consideration to make is if you can use a piece for multiple purposes. A timeless design like the Jens End Table can easily transition from one room to another.

Add depth through textiles

Laura selected a heather grey linen drapery panel to soften the windows and add depth to the space. Integrate colour and pattern with cushions and throws. The right collection can harmoniously pull together a room and they are easy to swap out when you are ready for an update.

Layer with accessories, rugs, botanicals, art

Layering with accessories, rugs, botanicals, and art creates visual interest and brings character to your home. Plus, they’re yours to keep and easy to move around.  Design your gallery wall to include a mixture of art pieces that share a common thread, such as a colour, and you’ll end up with a collection that can be combined in different ways, even if you move to a new space.

Make the space fit you

Add details to your home that fit your lifestyle. Make the space work for you. This hallway nook is perfect for a creative workspace, while maintaining the overall flow of the space. Laura designed a custom metal grid as a graphic wall piece to collect inspiration, daily reminders or tokens from your latest adventure.
