Life on Burke Mountain, Victoria by Mosaic

We love it here. Our newest neighbourhood, Victoria, is coming to Burke Mountain. Not only are you surrounded by the great outdoors and the added perk of living on a mountain, but Victoria is also situated near new schools, parks, shopping centres and transit.

One of things that we love about Victoria is the proximity to great schools. Within walking distance to Victoria is Leigh Elementary and only a short drive away is Terry Fox Secondary. There is also Smiling Creek Elementary which is set to open its doors in September 2018. For more information about what is being planned for the development of Burke Mountain, visit their website here.

Another reason we love life on Burke Mountain is the access to parks and green spaces. Just a short walk away from Victoria is Victoria Park. At the park, you’ll find a large fenced turf field, a full sized multi-sport court and an extensive playground. As the weather gets warmer, pack a picnic and spend the day here.

On the other side of Victoria Park is Leigh Park. We love Leigh Park’s green space and designated off-leash area for our furry friends of every size.

Hike: Munro and Dennett Lakes Location: Coquitlam Difficulty: Difficult Distance: 12.5 km Dogs allowed: Yes, on-leash Munro Lake and Dennett Lake are two beautiful lakes which can be accessed via a steep hike in Pinecone Burke Provincial Park, Coquitlam. The lakes are close to each other, although separated by about 120 meters of elevation. You first reach Munro Lake along the trail, and then carry on another 1 km to Dennett Lake. Between the two lakes, there is an incredible viewpoint looking east. Dennett Lake serves as a terrific swimming hole in the summer. Within a ten-minute drive of Victoria is everything you need. For quick coffee stops and full grocery hauls, Coquitlam has something for everyone. Along Westwood Street,Β  Real Canadian Superstore covers your grocery and household needs and the neighbouring Starbucks has just the right pick-me-up to run your errands.

Across the street is Coquitlam Centre. With plenty of shops and services to choose from, including the Apple Store, The Bay and Lululemon, Coquitlam Centre has got your shopping needs covered. Such close proximity to Victoria makes shopping a breeze.

Lululemon revealed their new look this morning … Just in time for Black Friday! Loving the new design and new location πŸŽ€πŸŒŸπŸ‘Œ@lululemon #MakeOver #Lululemon #CoquitlamCentre #Yoga

We love how all of the great amenities in Burke Mountain are paired with easy to reach thoroughfares. The West Coast Express, the Coquitlam Bus Loop and access to Highway 1 via Lougheed Highway, all minutes from Victoria.

We love how the addition of the Evergreen Line has made living in Coquitlam even better. By connecting the Tri-Cities to the existing SkyTrain system and the rest of the Lower Mainland, getting downtown has never been quicker.

One of our #bridge #engineers completed the detailed design of a new 240 metre elevated guideway – twin structures comprising curved, superelevated, steel box girders. We also completed inspection of the special structures scattered along this rapid transit line. #evergreenline #bctransit #civilengineering
