It’s All About the Art at Victoria – 3 & 4 Bedroom Coquitlam Townhouses
October 31, 2018
Our homeowners often ask us how we choose the artwork for our model homes? The answer – have some fun with different shapes and sizes, curate your favourite memories and invest where it matters most.
Mix and Match Different Frames of All Shapes and Sizes
Create a collage by mixing and matching a variety frames and images. These images can be a mix of your home-made photos, ordered prints or web art. Don’t be afraid to have a stand out piece or two. These add some more fun to the space, and naturally draw the eye to a favourite memory or adventure you’re bound to share over a good meal or glass of wine with friends and family. If you’re having troubles finding frames of interest, check out a local thrift store to find something with vintage look and feel. Fill in a RIBBA or two from IKEA and you’ll be set up with the perfect backdrop to any space.
Curate Your Favourite Memories
If you’re struggling to decide what kind of artwork you are searching for, or simply not in the market for collector prints, try using your travel photos, hobbies or your favourite pet photos. A black and white filter and simple crop can take a normal camera phone shot to a new focal point within your home. Film cameras are making a comeback too. Go through some of your memories of past, and visit a local print store to develop all of your favourite shots.
Spend Where it Matters Most
Decorating a home can be daunting, and you’re not alone when it comes to trying to understand what you should prioritize your budget towards. If you’re ready to invest in a signature piece, make sure there’s space to match this new investment. (A great space with 10-foot ceilings and big windows help.) The focal point in any room is where our eyes are first drawn to. Focus on areas like the living room or dining room to garner the best bang-for-your-buck. Also, remember to consider a piece that you can take from home-to-home if you ever decide to move.
