Steps to the Traboulay Trail at Fremont’s Port Coquitlam Rental Apartments
August 3, 2017
We love Fremont, and one of the many reasons we love Fremont so much is the access to the Traboulay Trail. We couldn’t be more excited that the warm summer months are finally here, and we wanted to share some of the many activities available throughout the Fremont community.
The scenic Traboulay Trail stretches across 25.3 km of forested paths, downtown strolls, and riverside relaxation. Named after Port Coquitlam’s 13th mayor who served the community for 19 years, the trail encircles the community and is a vital part of the transportation network of Port Coquitlam.
Easy and Scenic Bike Route
Hit the trail for a flat, off road or beautiful bike ride that will satisfy the entire family. The breathtaking trail is paved and lined with trees offering shade and has many places to stop and take a quick break to enjoy your surroundings. There are many playgrounds you can stop and entertain the family at with a picnic along the way. For more activity, take advantage of the soccer and softball fields for a quick game of pick up. Follow the trail into downtown Port Coquitlam for mid-afternoon ice cream to finish off the perfect family afternoon of fun and memories.
Leisurely Stroll or Outdoor Treadmill
Walk or run the trail for exercise and leisure to take in the beautiful surroundings that encompass the Traboulay Trail. Keep an eye out for eagle and bear sightings or one of the 150 different bird species that live in the area among lush trees and wildflowers.
Grab your bathing suit for a relaxing dip in the Coquitlam River to cool off after a brisk hike or take the dog for some off-leash exploring to meet new four-legged friends. There are so many things you can do to keep busy, creating memories for weekends to come.
Hyde Creek Center & Colony Farm
The city can feel quite hectic at times, but with Fremont Living so close to a quick relaxing escape, it’s easy to get back to nature. Pack a picnic and head to historic Colony Farm. Take in the breathtaking views of the river, fields, and mountain, and enjoy some peaceful time away from the city.
The hustle and bustle of the city never seemed so far away in this quick natures getaway. Check out the Hyde Creek Centre during the fall for some local knowledge at the salmon hatchery. Here you can learn about the fish that inhabit the rivers of Port Coquitlam and the wildlife in the area. Colony Farm and the Hyde Creek centre are great places to bring the kids for a day of learning and entertainment.
