Mosaic Homes x Monika Hibbs: A Home for the Holidays

We’re thrilled to have partnered with @monikahibbs this holiday season to bring some festive touches to our Gardner and Seaside model homes. Read below for Monika’s top 5 décor holiday decor tips that she shared on her blog:

This year we were excited when our friends at Mosaic Homes contacted us to help decorate two of their stunning townhomes for Christmas (once again!!). We decorated a space at their Abbotsford Gardner Homes as well as Tsawwassen Seaside homes. Each home was already beautifully decorated with its own aesthetic and style. One, with warmer tones, darker cabinets and the other with a more light and beachy vibe. Both of them have gorgeous 10-foot ceilings, which made both spaces feel large and airy; they are truly some of the most gorgeous townhomes. It was so fun to transform these two homes for the holidays.

For the Gardner location, our theme was White Christmas; we pulled in accents of gold and copper as it elevated the space in a sophisticated way. We decided on a beautiful flocked tree adding in fun details such as velvet caramel ribbon, a perfect trimming to this tree.

For the table setting, we started with a velvet runner and added our beautiful muted MH bottle brush trees, which added height and texture to the table. If you are hosting a dinner party over the holidays, it’s the ideal time to head to your local florist and get beautiful blooms for your table. This arrangement from Bloom Assembly was stunning and had a touch of whimsy and elegance all at the same time. To finish off the place settings, we added layers with wooden chargers, dinner and salad plates and a variety of glassware. (Try adding in two to three different sizes of glasses to add interest to your table). We finished off each set with a linen napkin tied in a simple knot in the center and nestled in bosc pears with a touch of velvet ribbon and olive branches. And oh, we can’t forget about these stunning olive branch and rosemary wreaths that hung off the back of each chair that added the perfect festive touch.

Adding a garland to your banisters and wreaths to your windows accentuates the festive theme throughout your home. This large wreath is such a beautiful statement in the window and finishes off the space, and we love the added light up “Joy” in the center.

Seaside is nestled close to the ocean in Tsawwassen, and all the units are beyond stunning with 10-foot ceilings, beautiful finishes and lots of natural light. In this home, we went with a more hygee Scandinavian feel. For the tree we used our beautiful MH rattan tree collar with a white colour blocked detail to add interest, grey wooden beads and a white wooden star tree topper as the perfect additions to finish of this tree from Hunters Garden Centre (for all asking they are truly the best of the best in the lower mainland for a flocked tree!).

In the living area, we brought in cozy details with creamy neutral throws and pillows; this is by far the easiest way to update your space for the holidays. Pops of soft blue ribbon added just the right amount of colour in this space.

Some of our favourite tips for decorating this holiday season :

  1. Pick a theme, anything from a white country Christmas to a minimalist Hygge Scandinavian; this will help everything come together for a cohesive look.
  2. Mix in ornaments that you have collected over the years with more simple sets of bulbs.
  3. Add in textures like velvet and silk ribbons to elevate your look; I honestly cannot get enough ribbons, I get all of mine from Shy Myrtle off Etsy
  4. Adding in live greens through garlands or a front door wreath is a great way to bring the scent of the season into your home.
  5. Switching out pillows and throws for the season adds in a festive and cozy vibe.
